Three Ph.D. Studentships / One Postdoctoral Scholarship in Migration, China, and the Global Context Programme
The Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and the Max Weber Foundation are launching a new, joint programme on Migration, China, and the Global Context. We seek outstanding candidates for three Ph.D. Studentships and one Postdoctoral Fellow. Starting October 1, 2014, and based in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Hong Kong Baptist University, members of this joint programme are expected to collaborate with the chair of East Asian History at the University of Freiburg/Germany, member institutes of theMax Weber Foundationand with other partners of the Hong Kong Baptist University. Funded by the Max Weber Foundation, each of the three Studentships includes a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 for 36 months (Full Time) to cover HKBU tuition fees, plus the cost of one placement in Europe. Fresh Ph.D. graduates are encouraged to apply for the Postdoctoral Scholarship (on one-year term and subject to renewal) whose salary and fringe benefits are paid by the Max Weber Foundation according to the candidate’s experience.
Interested applicants from related social sciences and humanities disciplines are invited to apply by 15 July 2014. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the quality and fit of their research proposal, potential for academic distinction, and experience working cross-culturally.
