Adam Oates To Throw First Pitch Tonight

New Washington Capitals head coach Adam Oates will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for tonight’s Washington Nationals game.  The Nats take on the Colorado Rockies at home at 7:05pm on MASN.  Be sure to tune in!

For those worried about embarrassing celebrity first-pitches that get thrown way wide or short of the plate, this is not one to worry about.  Besides being a hall of fame hockey player, Oates, 49, was also a professional lacrosse player before making the NHL.  The arm mechanics of a lacrosse shot from 60 feet and a baseball pitch from 60 feet are remarkably similar, meaning Oates should get a decent change-up across the plate tonight.
