Caps Visit Florida, Set Phasers To Purim

The gents behind the Florida Panthers’ marketing and ticket sales are at it again. In attempts to fill the BankAtlantic Center, the Cats are holding a pre-Purim party prior to the Washington Capitals’ game on Sunday, March 6th.

Quite brilliant, really: They’re marketing the leagues’ three-time Most Outstanding Player with a Jewish festival. Is there a better way to bring fans to see a team ranked 27th in the league in attendance than a costume contest, slapshot contest, and a band? And did I mention free parking?

So feel free to hop aboard a Jet Blue flight, because with a 4% Jewish population for the state of Florida as a whole, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to take advantage of the $15 tickets. While you’re down there, make sure to wear your new Dennis Wideman sweater.
