Capitals Waive DJ King, Assign Mathieu Perreault, Recall Jay Beagle, Todd Ford

The Washington Capitals have waived left winger D.J. King.  If he clears waivers, he may be sent to the AHL Hershey Bears. King has played in 14 of the Capitals’ 62 games this year, posting 1 assist, 25 penalty minutes, and a -3 rating. 

The Capitals also assigned center Mathieu Perreault to Hershey. Perreault has posted 7 goals and 14 points in 35 games in Washington.

The Capitals recalled center Jay Beagle from the Bears.  Beagle has posted 2 goals and 3 points in 22 games this season with Washington. 

The Capitals recalled newly signed goaltender Todd Ford from the Hershey Bears.  Ford has never played in the NHL.  Ford has played in 11 games with the Bears this season, posting a 5-4-1 record, a .879 save percentage, and a 3.14 goals against average.
