Capitals Trade Semyon Varlamov

As first reported by Washington Capitals senior writer Mike Vogel, the Caps have traded goaltender Semyon Varlamov to the Colorado Avalanche for two draft picks.  One is a 2012 first-round pick, which has the potential to be in the top ten, while the second is a second-round pick in either 2012 or 2013; the Capitals will chose which pick they want at next year’s draft.

This is a steal for the Capitals, as George McPhee just turned a disgruntled, upset goalie into two draft picks.  What an unbelievable return.
