[Ed. Note: While we have been able to provide substantial coverage of this week Washington Capitals Development Camp, we were unable to attend yesterday's scrimmage. We knew it wasn't right to leave you- the readers- in the dark for a day, so we were able to post a few interviews with Caps draft picks. In addition, we felt it necessary to share information from someone we knew who would definitely be with the prospects. Please join us in a warm RtR welcome for our newest blogger: Braden Holtby]

Alright, I've never done a blog before so just bare with me here. I asked a few guys who have done them but they found it a lot more funny to watch me struggle though it. Nice friends!

Holtby talks hockey. And paintball. But mostly Paintball.

So today was day 5 of development camp and we had an exciting scrimmage in the morning which had the white team winning 6-5 in a shootout. But the fun part of the day for the players was the paintballing they had set up for us in the afternoon. We were told on a little short notice to get some old clothes for it, and to say the least we weren't going to be featured in next months issue of GQ! Most of us thinking we were being smart, bought thick clothes to kill the pain of the paintballs. What we forgot was that it was 90 degrees and humid outside! I'm pretty sure we sweat more out there then we did in the scrimmage.

The paintballing featured team USA versus team world, but it was basically shoot who ever you can because if you looked for the little strip of tape to determine what team the player was on, you usually had about 5 different colors of paint on you and even more colors of purple and blue on your skin! And I'm sure we'll have about an hour long debate in the dressing room tomorrow about whose welts are biggest. All and all though it was a great time and we were all very thankful for the Caps taking us out there.

So turns out that after a game in the morning and a day full of rolling in dirt and running for your life when your gun seizes up or you run out of ammo, you get fairly tired. Were all looking forward to a good nights sleep to be able to give it our all tomorrow. So thanks to everyone who read this... and I tried to think of a cool sign off line, but I've got nothing. So see ya later!
and P.S. It's been a while since high school so try your best to block out the numerous grammatical errors please!

Picturing Finley and Pisano hiding behind a small shrub is cracking me up. Thanks for posting Holtby!

You wouldn't be a man if your friends helped you write a blog post. Maybe if you write a few more you'll take the mantle that was vacated by Gilbert Arenas's retirement from the blogosphere.
