Hershey Bears Throwback Jersey Auction

After Saturday’s frustrating 3-2 loss to Rochester, the Hershey Bears auctioned off the special throwback jerseys they wore to commemorate the AHL’s 75th anniversary.  Jersey Auctions are not new to the Bears.  Hershey holds them a few times a year, sending proceeds to numerous Hershey Bears charities within the community.  This auction was no exception, as the Bears raised a total of $30,400.

Noteables:
-Highest bid? $1,750 on Grant McNeill’s jersey – over $700 more than the sweater autographed by the entire team.
-Lowest bid? Todd Ford with $550. Someone had to be in last place, right?
-Fans were slow to bid on Kyle Greentree’s jersey.  The bidding started at $500 and there were no takers at first.  Who was the first to bid?  Joe Finley.  Lucky for him, others started bidding or Finley would have been the proud owner of a Kyle Greentree jersey.

-Dylan Yeo was assigned to the Stingrays at the start of the Season.  Can someone explain to me how an ECHL player’s jersey went for the same amount as a three-time NHL All-Star?
