Game I’m most excited for: vs. Philadelphia Flyers, November 7
Since Washington seems to lack a “true” Southeast Divisional rival, there’s something about facing an old Patrick and Atlantic division antagonist that seems to have been magnified in the recent years. Whether it’s recent engraving snafus, Scott Hartnell’s hair, or the fact that there seems to be so many damn fans in the DC area – I can’t wait to see them lose.

Game I’d travel to see: @ New York Rangers, November 9
So, it appears there are slim pickin’s this month with the Caps’ road games. Although MSG might not smell good sometimes, it’s still a pretty cool place to see a game – and I’d be able to hit up Papaya Dog while in the city.

(Non-Capitals) Player I’m most excited to see: Ryan Miller, November 13 & 17th
Hobey Baker Award winner at Michigan State. Starter for Eastern Conference in the 2007 NHL All-Star Game. Vezina Trophy winner and NHL Foundation Award winner 2010. MVP of the 2010 Olympics, including Best Goaltender and All-Star selections for the tournament. ‘Nuff said.

Game with the most interesting back-story: vs. Boston Bruins, November 5
After limiting the Caps to 2 goals during their October home-and-home, Les Capitales will be looking for redemption against Tim Thomas and the B’s. In addition to the ongoing Alex Ovechkin-Zdeno Chara battle, it’ll be interesting to see if Matt Hendricks/Greg Campbell throw down again

Game I’d be okay missing: vs. Atlanta Thrashers, November 14th
I had to pick one, so I went with the second of a back-to-back series that’s aired during the afternoon on a Sunday. Not much reasoning here, but they can’t all be zingers.

Game to pad the +/-: @ New Jersey Devils, November 22
0-4-1 at home. Ranked 26th in the league allowing 36 goals. Ranked 19th in the Penalty Kill, 30th in the Power Play at 8.1%. It’s not pretty in New Jersey right now and after putting up a 7-spot on the Devils in their first contest, the Capitals will look to victimize them again.

Promotions that probably won’t be scheduled: vs. Carolina Hurricanes, November 28
Welcome back Joe Corvo night
